Thailand signs NACAG Declaration

Thailand has become the newest member country of the Nitric Acid Climate Action Group. On 11 December 2019, at COP25 in Madrid, the Thai Minister of Natural Resources and the Environment signed the Declaration of NACAG. At the event with the German Minister of the Environment, Svenja Schulze, Mr. Varawut Silpa-archa thereby declared Thailand’s support of NACAG’s goals, namely to transform the global nitric acid sector towards climate-friendly production.
Thailand is home to 1 nitric acid plant with an estimated emission reduction potential of 180000 tCO2e every year. The Thai government and the NACAG Secretariat are now in the process of preparing the signing of NACAG’s Statement of Undertaking.
