In September 2019 the NACAG Secretariat carried out a feasibility study concerning the implementation of N2O abatement technology in Indonesia. Together with the Indonesian Ministry of Industry the NACAG Secretariat visited the nitric acid plants of PT Multi Nitrotama Kimia (PT MNK) and PT Black Bear Resources Indonesia (PT BBRI). The objective was to establish whether the implementation of N2O abatement projects would be feasible and which technology would be most suitable. Preliminary results indicate that installing abatement technology would be feasible in both plants.
Once the Indonesian Government has signed the Statement of Undertaking, both PT MNK and PT BBRI will be eligible to receive a grant from the NACAG Secretariat in order to install N2O abatement technology.
