The NACAG was met with great interest at the India Climate Policy and Business Conclave that was held in New Delhi from 8th – 9th October 2018. Organized by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) and the Indian Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change in partnership with the BMU, the World Bank and GIZ, the Conclave is India’s prime annual international forum for climate policy and carbon markets. At the Conclave – that saw significant private sector participation – the Director of the NACAG Secretariat introduced NACAG and visibly struck a chord with the audience which was very interested in this new approach.
Following the conference, the NACAG Secretariat met with three Indian nitric acid producers and with whom it discussed the functioning of NACAG.
India has a total of 16 nitric acid plants. The emission reduction potential in the nitric acid sector in this country hence is tremendous.
