NACAG successfully on track in spite of Covid-19

Despite the global pandemic of Covid-19, NACAG successfully continues its endeavours to facilitate the phasing out of N2O emissions in the nitric acid sector. The NACAG Secretariat continues to work with governments and nitric acid producers to support the installation of N2O abatement technology and the adoption of policies or other measures which ensure long-term emission abatement. For instance, NACAG is advising the governments of Mexico, Columbia and Viet Nam on policy instruments to incentivize long-term N2O abatement in the nitric acid sector. In Peru, Uzbekistan and Tunisia, NACAG is providing tailor-made support on how to include the sector in the countries’ revised Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC).
