Data Protection
We care about the protection of your personal data. Any collected data will be anonymized and will not be passed on to third parties.
For statistical purposes and to improve our service, this website uses technology provided by the company Matomo, which evaluates anonymized data and then deletes it (after 13 months).
The processing of personal data with Matomo is based on legitimate interests. Processing your personal data such as cookies is helping us identify what is working and what is not on our website. For example, it helps us identify, if the way we are communicating is engaging or not. By processing your personal data, you can profit from a website which is getting better and better. No other use is made of the data, and the data is not passed on to third parties.
Every time you visit a page on the NACAG website and every time you download a file, information about the activity is processed and stored in a temporary protocol file. Before it is stored, each data set is rendered anonymous by altering the IP address.
The following information is stored for each page you view and each file you download:
- Technical details of the browser used
- Anonymous IP address
- User ID
- Date and time
- Location of the user (country)
- The way you accessed the website (i.e. via a search engine or directly)
- Subpages opened/name of the file downloaded
- Screen resolution
Temporary session cookies are used each time you view an individual page, to make navigation easier. Cookies are small text files that are stored locally in your browser cache. Session cookies do not include any personal data and expire at the end of each session. We do not use methods such as Java applets or ActiveX controls that make it possible to track your browsing behaviour.
You can opt-out of our data collection through Matomo:
You may choose to prevent this website from aggregating and analyzing the actions you take here. Doing so will protect your privacy, but will also prevent the owner from learning from your actions and creating a better experience for you and other users.
Postal addresses and email addresses that you provide when you make an enquiry are used exclusively for correspondence or delivery purposes. Your details will not be passed onto third parties. No use will be made of your details for consulting purposes, for advertising or for market research.
Regular data erasure deadlines
Personal data is regularly erased when it is no longer needed for contractual purposes, if the data subject has not given any separate authorisation and if statutory data storage obligations and periods do not require longer periods of data storage.
Planned transfers of data to third countries
As a general principle, data will not be transferred to third countries. Exceptions are possible under exceptional legal circumstances.
The rights of the data subject
You are entitled to enquire about your personal data and its processing, to have the data corrected if necessary, and to request restriction of processing or the erasure of the data. The data will then be erased. If you have any questions or complaints about this website, please contact the GIZ data protection officer (see contact information provided above). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the responsible data protection supervisory authority. The responsible authority in this case is the German Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (BfDI).
